Occasionally, well now its happening much more often than before when I start up my 94 ATX the RPMs start bogging down well below 1000 rpm. The car sounds a little off and feels shaky when this happens. If I rev it nothing changes. I never drive the car when it starts like that though, I always restart it until (normally first or second time) the RPMs go back to their normals place and everything feels and sounds fine. Any suggestions?

When you rev it, the engine runs fine or the engine is still boggin?

If its fine when you rev it, I would first suspect the IAB valve is going out. :shrug:

After I rev it the engine still boggs down as if it was going to stall, but doesn't. Ive owned the car for a little over a year and havent given it a tune up, I dont know when the last owner did either

The Idle air control goes by several names
IAC = idle air control
IAB = Idle air bypass

My 93' was doing that very similar thing except it was stalling, i had oil in my plug wells so i changed the valve cover gasket and it helped for a while and then i threw a rod bearing so never could tell, but i also cleaned out my IAC or IAB, i dont remember, it was that little thing on top of the engine very close to the TB. There should be a write up on www.shotimes.com

The car has just about 118k miles now, i start her up at least two times a day and no blue smoke comes out from the tailpipes there's no leakage into the cylinders. Im probably going to have to bring it in because I dont have the necessary tools to diagnose the problem.
