Rpm fluctuation

So I have had the car for a few months and noticed a shudder/ rpm fluctuation. I read so many posts on here and wanted to share my experience. Yesterday I started with changing all of the plugs, boy was that fun That did nothing to help. Today I changed the transmission fluid, it came out black as night, my guess is the previous owner never serviced it, it had 60k on it. After filling it with fresh mercon lv the shudder and rpm fluctuation is completely gone. I’ll drive it for a week or two and change it again to try and get as much of the old fluid out as possible. If you are having this issue I highly recommend changing the fluid. It took less than 30 minutes and was easier than an oil change. Thank you to everyone who posted about this and helped me get my SHO driving the way it should.

as a rule of thumb, ford transmissions love fresh fluid. but especially smaller ones like the 6f35, and performance transmissions like the 6f55. cant go wrong following a severe duty/special operations schedule.

Change your other running gear fluids like the PTU also. It gets hot and cooks into a gooey mess in there.

I do the 5 out/5 in trans fluid swap every other time I change the oil. I religiously change my oil every 3k miles as well

Yes if the transmission oil looked like that just wait until you do the PTU and the RDU!
Guaranteed they were not changed/serviced either.
So I would NOT delay in changing the other fluids and be ready to change them regularly!

If she gives you anymore trouble, a transmission adaptive reset will help tranny learn that it doesn't need to buck and **** anymore.

And everyone is correct on the PTU, oil turns to sludge. I change mine every 10,000.
