I have a 94 ATX with 190k miles on it that is in dire need of new brake pads. I figured if I'm going to change the pads I might as well get some new (read: better) rotars/pads as I drive my SHO like a SHO and thusly, brakes are very important to me. I've done quite a bit of research (as I'm no "car guy") and I just want some recommendations as to what kind/brand/type of rotars/pads you guys have used and like. Are slotted/vented rotars worth it? I've read/heard alot of good things about Bendix (sp?) pads, they any good? Anyway, I'm a 19 year old doing my brakes for the first time so any help/adivce would be very appreciated....

Thanks,
Wes

Go to AutoZone and get their Aimco brand rotors and PFCM pads. You'll spend less than $100 on the front, and under $80 if you do the rears, and your brakes will stop well for a good long time with lifetime warranties on rotors and pads. Just ask Scott P.

I don't think they offer the lifetime warranty on the rotors any more. I believe it's only a 3 month deal. At least that's the story my 2 local AutoZones tell me.

Also, the PFCM pads create a LOT of dust, possibly the dustiest pad I've ever used. They are a great deal based on the improved stopping power, but if you like having nice, shiny wheels you'll want to keep a fresh coat of wax on them so the dust wipes off easily!

Good luck.
