Rod shifter and no rod Trans

Can a 95 sho with rod shifter use a non rod shifter trans from an older sho?(with out changing to a cable shifter)....... I have seen others talk about other trans that will work in a sho but never heard a definite yes. Is there another trans from another car that will work in a MTX? Thanks Rich

I'm pretty sure the trans are the same, the shift linkage isn't...

Yup, the trannies are the same, 100% interchangable.
