yet another stupid question by colt.

'95 MTX, is it rod or cable shift? how do I find out which one it is if you guys don't know from model year? which is better? I think I"m getting a tranny from a junkyard and the guy told me it's a pain to change from one to another.

also, are motor mounts ford only parts? if not, where's a good place to get them? thanx.

Rod shifters are in all MTX SHO's with a build date after May 13, 1991. Rod shifter is defintly better IMO, the gear selection is more positive. The transmission in a cable and rod car are the same so don't let the wrecking yard tell you different. BTW the swap from cable to rod takes less than 2 hours to complete with proper instructions and has nothing to do with the transmission just the shift mechanism.

Motor mounts are mostly OEM except for SHONUT reinforced version that I'm aware of.
