Last Sunday I found my car in my garage with the front passenger side tire flat. I thought "no biggie, my first flat, I'll patch this up." I jack up the car and look for a nail or some other puncture culprit. No luck  So I take the wheel off then and instantly I see on the inner sidewall a nice large crack. @)($#*@ Thankfully this didn't happen on the freeway to and from the TriState meet. So I took the rear wheel, moved it up front and put back one of my GL wheels as a spare. Today I go by work to mount a used tire that we don't sell to customers but are still fairly good for use. Upon mounting I discovered my rim had been bent. I did a road force variation check and apparently with the tire being marginal itself I was able to rotate the tire to have a balanced wheel and end up with only 17lbs of force variation. I'm confused as to whether the bent rim had been a result of the tire being flat? Or there is a nice pothole in the alley to my garage that we all have to go over, it's a tough one. Could that be the cause? If so, I'm :madflame: and I'm gonna call up the landlord....
Also, the bent part is on the inner side of the rim, hence why I'm wondering if it was related to the pothole, maybe it just hit hard and bam I didn't notice as I moved a few yards to my garage?
The inner bend is showing 0.120" according to the balancer and the outter side measured 0.010" off. Can this be repaired?

Can a bent rim cause a tire to lose air pressure? Of course. The bead of the tire if probably not sealing tightly.

Repairing a rim cost me $135 each recently, and that was at a wholesaler discount, as part of a set of wheels (originally quoted that price when I was fixing 9 wheels).

You're better off buying a slicer, or a even a SET of slicers for that. Actually, there are a bunch of guys selling sets of nice looking wheels on here & eBay now.

If you want a really nice set of wheels, I'm going to be relisting my 16x7 BBS RZII wheels with BFG G-Force KDW tires in 225/55-16 pretty soon. Comes with BBS centercaps & a nice BMW cap removal tool.

HOLY **** $135?!?! Wow, yeah I think I'll have to look into another set of slicers. I just got these on the car after so many years of SHOwnership. I feel like it's a real SHO now...well it will once I can get the right lugnuts on there and I can get centercaps on
