Ricky, I am finally out of debt and now have a cashflow significant enough to start building a nasty quality stereo for the car. Summer is almost here. Im gonna start with interior speakers, amps, and cd deck plus all new wiring. All high quality. I am definitly going to have the car dynomated or whatever brand seems best. I want all four doors, and the entire trunk. I know I don't have subs yet but they will be there in the future and I might as well do all this at once. First off are there any other areas that you would suggest treating. Second, I have begun shopping around for the stuff and im getting prices like $450 installed for just what I have mentioned. I checked out your site and was wondering what you could do for me as far as instalation and pricing were concerned. You can e-mail me at [email protected] or post it here. Its up to you. Thanks again.

Not too be a **** or take any business away from you Rickie, but there are many products out there that are cheaper and just as good as Dynamat. Installing the stuff is actually quite easy also. All you need is a roller, a heat gun and a knife. I also am planning on doing the doors, trunk, and firewall this summer. If you want any more info shoot me an email. It's [email protected]

I know that there are a lot more. in fact i was hoping i didn't have to use dynamat because of the expense of it. What other products would you recomend to use. i only siad dynomat because it is one of the most widley known.

Thanks

A very good product is Raammat. This stuff is just like Dynamat Extreme but at a much smaller price. You can get 50 sq ft for like 66 bucks. Sometimes the guy who sells it has auctions on ebay. If you're interested in it I can get you his email. Also Parts Express has some sound dampening sheets. They are like $18 for like a 12 sq ft sheet. This stuff is very good also. I think that if you call them and ask for their wrinkled and damaged ones you can get them for $10. McMaster also sells a good product. Do a search for sound dampn and then look near the bottom of the page for the high temp mastic and the viscoelastic stuff. I would reccomend the visco stuff if you go with that. It's PVC based, very sticky and doesn't smell. For really cheap you can go to Home Depot or any lumber yard and get Weather Watch/Guard, rubberized undercoating, and bed liner. I myself will most likely be going with Raammat. **** if you want in the summer when I do this you can come up and we can do the cars together. You don't live too far away from me. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

weather gaurd doesn't work. its too sticky and has granuals on it that will tear away at the back of the panels that you put against it. the only thing thats close to dynamat etc that would work is "Grace ice and water" this shit is EXPENSIVE. you get a massive roll of it though 200Sq Ft, for like $100. its not that thick however, very easy to install though, its the stickiest stuff you can buy.

Weather Guard will work. I know several people that have used it in their installs. At $100 for 200 sq ft that is a very good price considering you would pay well over $300 for that amount of Dynamat, over $200 for 200 sq ft of Raammat and so on.

underdog, i will reexplain this. weather gaurd will indeed stick and will help BUT the granuals on the back will eventually cause wear, sometimes exremely exesive wear on the panels that cover it. for $100 for a 2sq(roofing term= 100 sq feet) roll of grace, it equals out to the thickness of probably 100sp feet of dynamat, if not less. grace is pretty thin compared to dynamat. i work with grace, weather gaurd and similar products on a daily basis, i know how they react and what they will do.
