Hiya guys, I have a white '90 SHO which I bought about a month ago.
I took out the stock exhaust from right before the Y, and put in a custom bent 2" dual exhaust with glasspacks and 4"x20" chrome tips (I'll have pics hopefully tomorrow night). Anyway, my problem is when the car is just started, if i push the gas to the floor, it goes upto about 3k then bogs down like its gonna **** until you let off the gas. but if you push the gas lighly it'll go all the way to the redline nice and smooth. has anyone else had this problem???
i'ts not licensed yet so i havent been able to take it out on the road, but it'll smoke both tires on a 25' piece of concrete parking lot. anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

First, welcome to the forum! :)

I've never been a fan of revving a motor in a car that is sitting still. I don't know that you can accurately determine how an engine is performing by doing this (other than with the SHO, perhaps verifying proper secondary butterfly operation).

The engine is never going to be able to rev as quickly under load as it can standing still with no load. Until you can get the car on the road and drive it, I suggest not worrying about it. Once you've had the chance to drive the car and become familiar with it, then you might be able to describe some real world situations where you suspect some drivability or engine ops issues.

BTW, doing burnouts in a SHO is a quick way to grenade the differential in the transmission. One of the best features of the forum is a search function, which if you search under "diff pin" or "burnouts" should yield a number of threads describing the details of how the SHO diff operates, it's inherent weakness, and what happens when it ventilates your tranny.

Congrats on joining the SHO community! Let us know how it performs when you get to stretch its legs out on the open road! :D

 Don't they sell a kit for that?
Seriously, if you thrash the tranny the pieces inside will eventually break loose then bust through the tranny, ruining it. This is called "grenading" it or the above "ventilation".

Welcome to the SHO world! :thumb:
I'd second the suggestion on doing lots of searches here. And avoid abusing your car- it will just cost you $$$ and :headbang: later on. Burnouts are a :nono: and redlining the engine when you're not driving is rough on the clutch and engine.

You might have issues with some kind of sensor if it bogs when you press the gas all the way down. Best way to see is when the car is rolling in 2nd-5th gear.
You can check the engine computer codes for free at home- see shotimes.com or http://www.shophoenixproject.com/maint.htm
The computer might give you an indication of any possible problems.
