Reverse Lights

to the point, sometimes when i put my car in reverse the reverse lights dont come on, but if i tap or even lightly bang the shifter toward the P the lights come on....I am assuming its a bad connection and all but where at? in the shifter somewhere or elsewhere. Seems like it's in the shifter, but I'm sorry I can't help you further.

My mom had this in an 86 Buick LeSabre Wagon she used to own. Kind of odd, but it seemed to be some connection in the shifter. Just move it closer to park and the lights come on. Kind of a neat little quirk, but I never really checked it out because the motor blew....

problem is the transmission range [TR] sensor. located on the outside of transaxle at the manual control lever.
