reverse lights wont go off!!!

My reverse lights didnt work when i got the car and i put some bulbs in it to find that they dont turn off!! Im pritty sure its the sensor on the transmission that would be causing this Correct???? just want to make sure before i do the work!!! Thanks in advance Joe

Just to verify that it's the switch before you buy another one, just disconnect the wiring to the switch. If the lights go out after you pull the wiring, the switch is the culprit. Pull it out and you might try forcing some WD-40 in it to clean it out, might save you the cost of the switch.

yeah thats what i was thinking it was i just wanted to make sure that there isnt any other things that commonly go wrong with the SHO's i know they have their quirks
