So, as I have posted I've been testing a new tune with a little more boost than my previous Stage 3 tune and have also had I tune with a little more boost than that and a little more timing.

So the weather was great today, high 40's but with a 15-20 mph cross wind.
On the tune that I have been driving daily I ran back to back....

1.843 60ft
5.290 330ft
8.198 1/8 ET
84.76 1/8 MPH
10.71 1000 ft ET
97.77 1000 ft MPH
12.81 1/4 ET
109.71 1/4 MPH

I also ran a 12.86 at 109.77....I have the MPH to beat Beefcake!

So I loaded in the other tune and let the car cool down for about an hour.

Pulled up to the lights...left at at 1500 rpm like I had the previous runs and
spun the tires so hard that the car must have triggered some sensor and I basically lost power to the vehicle for a second and killed my run obviously.
Damn! I can tell you the car has not left that hard for me yet..spinning and all I ran an 1.8606 60ft! I'm sure if it would have continued I would have had the .06 I needed to beat the record!!

Well theres one more weekend left...I'll leave at a lower rpm and see what happens!

Want to thank the guys at Livernois, especially Rick and Dan for making the car capable of beating this record this year. Now if the driver could do his part...a new record should be had next weekend!

Thanks to everyone on here as well for providing the motivation!

That's awesome!! Hopefully you turned on the massaging seats and had a relaxing 12 second quarter mile haha. Excited to see where these cars/engines are at in 5 years.

isn't traction/stability control defeatable? i drove a "base" model SHO and with the button down by the bottom of the console, was able to hold 2nd at WOT in order to rally bomb down the dirt road i live on...

WOW that sound Great....all for the stage 3 tune....
Sorry to hear about the "test tune"....were you running with the traction control on?? Just wondering if that is what triggered the loss of power....

Hey guys! I had the traction control completely off, with the performance package there is a "Sport" mode and then the ability to turn it off completely which is what I usually do. I think it just killed the power because of the violent tire spin. I'll try to figure it out this week and get Dans opinion.

As far as the tune availability...I'll let Rick comment on that part, I'm sure he'll read this thread and post again.

The file in Darrell’s car can be sold now, however our tuner says it’s a more aggressive “run at your own risk” tune. Darrell had a mix of pump gas and race gas in his car and I’m sure most SHO owners wouldn’t want to do that unless they were just going to do it for the track.

I've been running that tune in my car on 93 octane on a daily basis for a few weeks without any problem. If you stepped up to the next tune I would definately run a mix just to keep it on the safe side.

I had this happen when I was testing my Brick on a blacktop road prior to my strip runs a few days later... Kinda scary!

Do you have to do any Transmission Mods to BEEF it up some when adding this additional power? I'm shopping for a 2011 SHO right now and can't seem to leave anything stock.

Thanks

I'm not very good at leaving things stock either! Haven't done any trans mods yet, mostly because of a lack of them. I did find one company that stated they'd build the trans/tc to whatever power level I want.

If I had to take a guess, it's probably an embedded program to keep your trans and PTU from grenading under extreme load conditions. Eventhough it seems like it may have sucked, it also may have saved your drivetrain .

Nice times though Darrel the weather is looking pretty decent for the rest of this week, so hopefully it can hold out for the weekend.

I'm sure it was a safeguard and I'm not really that bummed about it. Glad it might have protected me...was a little scary for a second though...thought I definately broke something!

Hoping the weather holds out too! Thanks! The last hoorah for the year!

That is VERY IMPRESSIVE! I didn't realize the stock transmission would handle all that power, especially with the grip of AWD. I was considering an 11 CTS-V but really wanted AWD and would like to stand behind Ford. But I have a Z06 too so I guess I'm somewhat of a hypocrite.

Is your car still a Daily Driver? Anything lost in that aspect?

Thanks for the info, still waiting on salesman to track down the SHO I want. Internet says it's on their lot! So hopefully it's there! It stickers @ $47,350, Minus the Rapid Spec Savings of $700! So actual Window Sticker is $46,650. Haven't shopped much but seemed like a good starting price, hoping to get it for low $40's + TT&L. But we'll see.

Thanks Again, I've learned more about these cars in the past few hours of reading on this Forum than I have in the past week getting bits and pieces through Google.

Was like hitting a wall.... Wonder if it is a fuel shut off??? Maybe Livernois tuner can tell us what was happening.

So Darrell.... when are you going to start playing with your Flex toy??????

As soon as the wife let's me spend some money!!

On a serious note, it will be tuned and whatever I see works on the SHO will carry over to the Flex

12.8 @ 109 mph, pretty darn impressive, just curious, what kind of numbers did your car run stock before any tuning? Also, the 12.8 was with just the Stage 3 tune?
