Hey everyone, my car has a stock-like, but replacement mid pipe with resonator, i think it might be a dynomax part, and its got a rattle in it. With the car jacked up if i hit the resonator you can easily hear something rattling inside. Its not the pipe hitting the car or anything, I've checked for clearance. So i'm wondering if anyone knows what could be inside this thing? I don't know how resonators work, do some have baffles like mufflers? Its starting to get annoying as it sounds like something is rattling off my car at some speeds and unfortunately i can't take it off cause its to rusted to the back half of the stock exhaust. Thanks for any input

It will be the tube baffle inside thats came loose, I seen it before. What you can do is drill some sheet metal screws into it and it will stop the rattle.

Awsome idea, i'll do that. You think 1 inch screws would work?

I had the same problem. I tried the screws with no success. Turns out the resonator baffle had split in half and no amount of screws would have fixed it. I just ended up replacing it with a straight pipe. I do not think that it was a power benefit, but I do like the louder burble at idle. The down side is that it now has a buzzy resonance in the middle of the power band. I do have Dynomax pipes and mufflers on the car and was thinking about replacing them with Flowmasters in an effort to eliminate the reasonance. Also, I'm tired of the mufflers rusting out. I can get stainless Flowmaster Delta Flow 40s that should fit in the same position relatively easily. Has anyone else tried this?
