i am getting my exhaust taken care of today. i have two flowtech raptor turbo performance mufflers, and i was thinking if i dont get the sound i like what could i do that is resonable? i dont want to remove the resonator because that will lead to rasp. but in order of acheiving a deeper sound i was thinking of running a cherry bomb muffler where the resonator would go. opinions? thoughts would be appreciated.

I think were pretty much limited in that area, I think it could help with the CB Muffler but it's a toss up if it will work to achieve your desired results. It's all trial and error to find the right sound you want.

cherry bomb. i think you're gonna be SOL on this simply due to the fact that the SHO V6 is virtuall impossible to get a rumble out of simply due to the engine design. mine with a custom bent 2.5" catback into a 40 series flowmaster is one of the better sounding exhausts i've heard, and it still sounds like shit.

WHEN you do post a vid. please put the camera on the SIDE of the muffler because it will sound like shit behind it. if you go to advance, they have those flow through mufflers for around 30 bux or less depending on what size youd like.

Cherry bomb mufflers make great resonators!
Make sure you get one that will fit though, the SHO exhaust on rod shifted cars does not leave alot of room for anything over 16-18 inches.

Really, the only way to get rid of rasp (or minimize it... you will never really completely get rid of it) is to stuff that ******** as full of resonators as you can. A Cherry Bomb muffler does work very well as a resonator and you might consider stuffing the biggest one you can fit in place of the stock resonator. I know a few guys that have cherry bombs for mufflers as well, and there is very little rasp.

Just put a full Dynomax Catback on this summer and it is not too bad, a little rasp before it warms up but other than it's decent..
