Replacing side view mirror.

How hard is it replace the side view mirror on a Taurus/SHO. Not the assembly, just the mirror part itself.
I was at a junkyard, and it didn't look too easy...almost as if the mirror part was a one time permanent sort of thing....

Tilt the mirror to the full down position and firmly pull away and downward. The mirror will 'snap' off of the two motor shafts. Installation is the reverse of removal.

BTW; my 95 did not come with the blue tinted mirrors so apparently there were variations. Make sure they match! :lol:

It seems (at least on the junkyard ones I encountered) that there was also this semi-permanent stapled part as well as the motor shafts.
I'll go to the junkyard soon, and confirm this.

I concur with SLO-SHO on this one. I have never tried to reattach the mirror to the motors though. I have removed them though and they just popped off with a little force.
