?? I'm kinda perped on this one. I first noticed it wasn't working after I swapped in the 3.2. First assumption was the VSS, but after replacing it I still have no cruise. Any ideas where to begin to look for this problem?

RJ,

The "clockspring" is a devise in the steering wheel, behind the air bag, that provides electrical connections for the horn, cruise control, and the air bag. It is a ribbon of wires that wind up and unwind, like a clockspring, as you turn the steering wheel from its center to the right, or to the left, and back to center.

If you took a metal coathanger and bend it back and forth it would eventually break. Well, the "clocksprings" occasionally breaks or otherwise lose contact with one or more of the items it provided current to, ie the horn, air bag, or the cruise control.

If you are interested I'll dig up the tests for the cruise control through the clockspring. The connection is in the steering column and I think a simple continuity test should do it. However, the air bag should be disarmed as a precaution. Let me know if you want to try this. rangerj

PS, and RJ watch you language, (WTF  ) because I have my wifes picture in my pocket. Seriously, we want to clean up the forum and be more dignified and professional. I am not flaming you, I'm just asking for your help.
