Replaced Injectors>Started Knocking>Dead

i needed to replace the feul injectors since thats what the previous owner said it still needed... after 8 months of owning and driving the car (always finessing it past half throttle cause it would just chug back and forth if floored) i decided to change them out with the ones i found for pretty cheap on ebay... They happened to be from a 3.2... (maybe a problem let me know if it was plz) After heading to the junkyard twice to get the injector grommets off of a sho we finally got everything back together and tested to see if feul was coming out of the nozzles and no place else which had happened once already... we fired it up and it was idling a little ruff and was knocking quite loud... i throttled it a few times and it seemed to smooth its idling... we realized we hadnt put coolant back in it so we went ahead and filled it back up which seemed so quite out the knocking quite abit... i took it down the alley and back and found it had full throttle again and was much faster than i imagined it was going to be... we cleaned up the garage and i hopped back in it to get some more gas in it and head to my apt when i noticed the knocking was back an louder than ever... i checked the oil while gassing up and it was fine... it was late and i had to be at work early so i decided to put it off until after work the next day but on my way to work the next day it died on me and wouldnt crank over... i went back to it with my friend during my lunch break tried jumping it and cranking it over and nothing... we then towed it back to my apt where its been sitting and i've been taking the bus since... please it kills me to have that great car in my garage and me having to catch the bus now... plz any help is greatly appreciated and i cant wait to work on whatever u guys can help me figure out... and sorry for being so long and thnx for taking the time to read...

its not sounding too promising... hope that you didnt run it too long without antifreeze in it. and i hope you were keeping an eye on the temp guage during that time and after you put coolant in...beware of air pockets.

thats the first thing i looked at after it died... the temp was fine on the first cold morning in the area in awhile... it was almost at mid temp... but ya it easily could have been an air pocket... i was in too much of a rush to make sure that want the case when i filled it... any idea what kind of damage it could have done....?

Quik update i just ran codes and got 34 and 91 from the memory which was a bad egr valve at some point and 91 meant i was running lean for a while... i really wish i would have known how to check codes before i ran it for a day but hindsight is always 20/20... thnx for ur help and if u can let me in on what kind of damage running an engine lean until it stops running and wont crank anymore i would greatly appreciate it.....
