We purchased a new seal for the sunroof and am leery of replacing this myself. Has anyone actually performed this swap on their own? If so, how did you go about this process? Would love some tips.
Did you need to drop the headliner to gain access?

We have no idea where to begin......HELP!

I believe that you have to take the moonroof glass out of the car to install it.
To remove the glass:
1. Open the sunshade all the way.
2. Remove the 3 small screws that hold the black metal trim to the front edge of the underside of the moonroof glass and then slide the metal trim back and out of the way.
3. Open the moonroof to the vent position.
4. Remove the 6 lifter arm to glass screws (3 on each side).
5. Lift the glass out of the opening from above (it helps to have two people).

They never want to come out. Take this into account when attempting to remove them. If you strip just one of them, the frustration you will encounter will make you want to break something.

My method to remove these screws is to start with an air rachet that has a phillips head screw tip that fits the screw perfectly. Then, I use all the force I can muster (without breaking anything) to push the bit into the screw's head. I say a quick prayer and let the air rachet pound away. The repeated impacting of the air rachet is what breaks loose the screw. Using a regular screw driver and just twisting on it will probably not be as successful.

I've ended up having to drill out 2 of the lifter arm to glass screws. Luckily I had replacements on hand for them. I hate those ******* screws.
