I'm going to pull the intake on my 98 tonight so I can replace valve cover gaskets and do some other stuff I want to do.
I was just thinking, are the intake gaskets on the V8 motor reusable like on the V6? Is there any other gaskets I need to look out for?

I was always very careful removing the intake. I think the first time it took about 2 hours and by the end of my ownership I could have that thing off in 25-30.

They are reusable, just clean with carb cleaner and let dry. Put a fresh coat of paint on them and you should be good to go.

I got it off last night. I cant believe how much oil is caked all over the inside of the plenum and intake tubes! My 98 only has 103k miles! I dodnt think Kirk got the intake clamps on very tight after he welded the cams. After I removed the bolts, the tubes pulled out without loosening them up.
More than likely they just loosen up over time. I had it done when it had 30k miles.
