I'm dismantling my engine so I can move it without a cherry picker, better store it, and get more motivated to do something with my spare heads. I need to know the size of the hex bolts that hold the heads to the block. How heavy is the shortblock. Think I'll be able to move it with a friend?

YOU shouldn't have any problem moving it with another person.
I've seen a complete engine lifted onto a truck bed by 3-4 people.

10mm Hex Head is the size.

Ive moved full engines around the garage with nothing more than a block of wood under the oil pan and my own muscle. Just takes time.

The engine is moved. I pretty much dismantled the whole thing down to the short block. I loaded it onto a wood dolly and it was manageable with my friend and I. I could carry the thing by myself, but I'd rather not risk injury. Even with just the shortblock that thing is pretty freaking heavy. I was relieved to find out I didn't have to remove the real big hex bolts to seperate the heads from the block. I made sure to put all of the bolts back into their respective holes when at all ever possible. My heads may be sparkling, but the pistons are quite grimy inside.
