So my dad's car lift is finally installed... now it's time for the ATX -> MTX swap!

For both the ATX and the MTX donor car, my general plan is to use the lift to raise the body completely off of the subframe+engine+trans assembly (after blocking up the SF). I need some advice as to what needs to be unhooked/removed before this is possible.

I have a good handle on the main items (hoses, wires, suspension, exhaust, etc.), but I'm not so sure about items mounted on the back side of the engine / firewall that may interfere when raising the body.

Thanks,

Nate

There's nothing in the way as long as everything is disconnected properly. Cooling hoses, A/C lines, harnesses, grounds, fuel lines, vacuum, y-pipe to catback joint, shifter, steering rack joint, accelerator and cruise cables, clutch cable and tq. limiters on MTX cars, etc. should just about cover it, then just pop the subframe bolts. Just start lifting the car very slowly and make sure there's nothing you missed as it's going up.

If you don't have something like a pallet jack or forklift handy, I recommend getting a rolling steel table made of 1/4" plate on big casters for moving the drivetrain assy around.
