Hey guys I have been wanting to paint the cener dash overlay eversince I got my SHO. Well, today I bought some silver metallic acrylic paint for the job. I went out to take the overlay off, and I couldnt...

I am referring to the black plastic piece that is attached to the lower grey pieces that hold the vents. I want to paint the vents as well. Anywho, I need help with this ASAP. I wanna remove the black plastic piece to paint, and then I would like to remove the vents in the dash. Thanx in advance guys...

that whole section, that surrounds the guages, the climate control and has the vents on it, will come right off when you pull the kickplate under the steering column off then remove the torx screws holding it on. easy as cake man. youll need a torx for the kickpanel and a separate torx for the surround itself. youll just have to unhook the electrical connectors behind it to the light switch/defroster switch, etc.

When you undo the small torx(or 7mm) screws on the side of the steering column, you also have two more that are on the top inside of the panel. It's right above the gauge cluster. And once you have all four out, the piece just pops out. But don't just yank on it, you have to un plug all the connectors. Take your time, and be sure to pull on the edges evenly when you pull it out.

you need a torx screwdriver. As there are many torx screws in the sho, I'd get a set from T-15 to t-30, but at the very least, a t-20 and t-25

okay....i found a trox set in my basement. Anywho, I have the kick panel off and both screws holding the panel onto the dash off. However, it is NOT coming off! it is very loose, however in both corners it is VERY tight and it is not budging. How do I disconnect the electrical stuff? It is frustrating because I am SO very close to having it off...

okay...i got every electrical connection off EXCEPT the connection to the fogs. How do I get this connection off? is it the black snap on connection or is simply a plugin connection such as the rear defroster and headlight switches?

OK! EVERYTHING IS OFF...except for a blue and a grey(black maybe)wire. It is attached to something white on the backside of the panel, and doesnt seem to be able to be removed. What do these two wires control? And, if possible how do I disconnect it? I want to take the entire panel into my room to paint. It is COLD in the garage oh_my Thanx for all the help guys...it seems like everytime I get passed something another obstacle occurs. This seems to be the last one though, because it is the only thing left connected to the dash panel. I need help ASAP guys...thanx wink
