How? There is one nut at the back that I tried to turn, but it just keeps turning. I guess I have to hold the other end of the bolt and then try to turn it. What about the nuts on the sides of the housing? Which is the ones that actually hold the housing in place?

I have to take the housing off and empty water from the inside. Is there any kind of procedure that I can do to take off some of the rock pitting of the glass? Polishing/sanding? Suggestions?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Is this on a Gen I or a Gen II?

I can help you if it's a Gen I... I've never touched fog lights on a Gen II though, sorry.

Okay Chris, what are you referring to? I can't hardly remember the factory ones but I think I can help. Are you trying to remove the ENTIRE factory setup? If so, that will be tough, because part of what the factory fogs use is part of the bumper assembly and is made of IRON! Just remove the 2 nuts on the sides of the foglight and the one on the back SHOULD come with a little help from a pair of pliers on the other side. Keep working it with a little WD-40 or something like that and you can get it! Do you have water in the lamp housing itself? Tell me more...

Yep, water in the housing. I want to take it off to see why I am getting water in there. I have a gen 2.
I used to get water in the housing which used to cause my bulbs to blow every month. After going through a $15 per month fog lamp bulb habit, I had enough. I took the housings out and found they were severely cracked (top and bottom). I used clear silicone to fill in the cracks and the fogs have been working great ever since. I can get a year or so out of the bulbs now (I have the fog light switch mod and I run my fogs all the time when driving).
