My stock tape unit is giving up the ghost. AM is dying. Anyway I have read about aftermarket adapters that claim they can be programed to keep steering wheel remotes working. I assume it would work for my SHO. But when I asked at a shop they told me they MIGHT be able to get a head unit with a remote, take it apart and somehow wire to the dash buttons. Any ideas?

there is an alternative that i have seen in catalog that hooks right up to the in dash control. i believe it cost around $50-$75. i know i have seen it online too. this came up about a year ago with another member named THO-SHO, but i cant recall if we posted the link or not. im sure some searching in google will turn it up. good luck.

After I initally replaced my stock HU with a Clarion I was thinking about keeping the stock dash controls. Everytime I went to turn the radio up or down I found myself reaching for the dash controls. After a while I found that I just got used to using the radio controls and to me it was no longer worth the money to keep the stock controls on the dash. Once you are used to the radio controls it's just as easy to use.
