ok so i will be buying a remote mount turbo kit for my sho and i talked to vernon at sts turbo and he said i should go with the stage 3 universal kit along with a 60-1 turbo. i was wondering what does the pcv check valve do?>

The check valve is likely used to keep the PCV valve from seeing any boost(often start to leak) and keep any boost from making its way into the crank case. It will either replace the OEM PCV valve entirely or be put inline with it on the intake manifold side. I'm not sure exactly how they'll have it but this is the common set up for turbo cars.

I am also interested; Just wondering what price Vernon quoted you for the STS package ? It seems it does not require an intercooler due to the inherant cooling of the intake via the piping under the chassis ? IIRC Somebody on the forum has a remote setup and it seems to work very well.

Search for 'remote turbo' and you should find several of Scott's (Username=strings____) threads. And its true, the stretch of piping under the chassis will cool the intake charge much more than a traditional mount with no intercooler, lessening the need of an intercooler.
I have plans of doing this, but I'm going for the more cost-effective route of piecing together my own "kit".

it worked well untill he was running too much boost and his intake temps were oo high and he killed his engine.
don't get greedy with boost.
said user has since switched to a conventional mount turbo.
edit: you will not need the PCV check valve. You do however need to vent both to the atmosphere

they still have a breather that hooks to the throttle body. the reasin theres no Valve is because they work via intentionaly circulating air thru the crank case
the valve cover line is the in, the out connects to the manifold, behind the throttle body, so it always sees vacuum
a PCV system just allows PRESSURE to vent from the crankcase,
so you still need a check valve, or to plug the TB port and just dump the hoses into a breather, into the exhaust, or just plain overboard
warning: dumping the fumes overboard may result in fireballs and engine fires, especialy after you crack some ring lands by running to much boost .... paging Somedude, lol

The correct way would be to hook up the check valve from the crankcase to any area behind the throttle plate, and another breather line going from the crankcase to any area in front of the turbo inlet. The check valve would of course be oriented so no boost would enter the crankcase. Put a catch can in the breather going to the turbo inlet side if you are worried about oil build up, and even one on the check valve side.

just to correct some things here, my car is still remote turbo'd and runs very well at 17-18 psi. it has a new clutch and runs great, even pulled a new best time at the drag strip... And won first place for the evening! consistency, good launches and a new best time all in one night... God I love this car!
Also, my pcv system(valve cover and the one that hooks to the bottom of the TB) are both vented into a catchcan of sorts. it works well for my setup.

I think the question is if he was at sea level would the car hold togeather from the added power? If so I will have to get back to work on my car.
