After putting in the new tranny I am having a lil trouble getting the half-shafts to pop back in. Got the carrier shat in the diff but can't get the driver side shaft in the diff or the passenger side in the carrier shaft. I feel an ancient Chinese secret here.

And replacing LCAs but they don't want to come off the damn strut rod. Everything is unbolted and I even took a hand sledgew and beat on them for a bit, but no luck. Whats the deal?

The CV joints will require a quick snap to get them in, Thats all. As for the LCA a little more force may be needed.

Yeah, they both need a little encouragement to convince them to cooperate. Just be careful not to hit the wrong thing. ;)

For the driver side axle, you just need to give it a good shove to go in right.
When trying to remove the LCA do you have the far end where it sits in it's spot on the subframe out? It won't come out until it's only hanging up by only the strut rod. Then it should just come off with a little pull.

I have found that if you have the open end of the circlip pointed down, towards the ground, then the HS goes in much easier. If that doesn't work tap on it with a rubber or plastic mallet.

For the LCA do as MASHO95 said. Make sure the bolt is out that attaches it to the subframe and the pinch bolt is out that holds the ball joint in. Now you can swivel it out. Spray some Pblaster on the strut rod, they tend to get rusty and hang up.
