Ok my search did not turn up any results on this subject. Not only are there many more wheels in different bolt patterns than 5x 108 but the wheels are much cheaper as well. What would be involved in redrilling the hubs? Is it possible to do? Would it be safe? How much? TIA

Why not try putting Mustang spindles on there? I remember Kirk mentioning it somewhere.

Mustang spindles would be a problem because the hub wouldn't be splined for the drive shafts I'm pretty sure they have sealed bearing setup like ther rears on the SHO. And you'd still have to redrill the rear hubs.

Perhaps having the wheels themselves redrilled is cheaper?
Can anyone who's done it chime in?
If we could all agree to send them to one place we can get them done cheap.
Any recommendations?

What would be key is to get a hub without any holes, a blank, and then have the 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern drilled into it.

I had to get my rims redilled. I just loved the toxxins and i couldn't find them in my size. So i had to end up buying rims that would fit honda's. So i had discount tire redill them for me. (They sent them off) And it cost me 250 for every thing. But it was well worth it. I love my rims!! thumb

My friend bought Eric W.'s old white 17's and they had been redrilled. We dont know where or whatever, but we could tell that there was originally four holes. I figure as long as the wheels have a center cap, and are a four lug, there shouldn't be a problem redrilling them. I say four lug, since wheels that are probably already 5 lug, wouldn't allow much space to drill extra holes.

redrilling the holes isn't as hairy a situation as many are led to believe. Try to find a set of wheels that have a bolt pattern close to our 5x108.

Structural integrity of the wheel itself isn't really an issue because holes have to be drilled from a cast in the first place. I had a set of MOMO Sports that were originally drilled for an E class Mercedes. Redrilling only makes the holes an oblong shape.

Those MOMOs served my SHO for at least 3-4 years. No problems. That included some track time.

The only thing I'm thinking is that you might want a pattern smaller than 108. So when it's redrilled, the stud and the centrifugal force made while spinning, it will be pushing against the solid edge of the oblong holes.
