Redline fluid. What kind and how much?

What kind of redline tranny fluid should I get and how much should I get? I've read 3qts, 12qts, and 3 gallons, so i'm pretty confused on how much to get.

Which transmission is it going into? The MTX holds 6.2 pints or 3.1 quarts. The MTX uses Redline D4 ATF. I had previuously used the Redline D4, but lost it during a clutch replacement. I have since had equlivalent service from Type F ATF and Ford Friction Modifier.

The ATX holds 25.6 pints or 12.8 quarts. I haven't checked on redline type for the ATX.

Thank you. Its going into an MTX. So the Racing ATF all synthetic blend won't work? Because thats what i thought it was, so i bought it.

I purchased the type 3 redline fluid from summit racing. If you have that type it will work fine. Will need about 14 quarts to do a complete flush. Good luck. You will be very happy with it..

The MTX isn't as picky as the ATX in regards to oil. I would think the ATF you bought will be just fine.

Synthetic will work just as well as the D4 then? I did the same thing, bought the redline synthetic. Only it's not too late to exchange it yet if the other kind will work better.

redline makes a MTX fluid that is supposed to improve shifting alot. that's what i'm going with. eek! shoot
