This might be a stupid question but is the redline mtl the same as the redline d4 or is that actualyl the d4 fluid? Sorry if im being ignorant but im really not sure.

Edit: just finished reading the bottle and it says redline D4 should be used if the trans was reccomended for atf. Does that mean I should return this stuff and get D4? The mtx sho is soposed to have atf correct?

Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. $7 per bottle, 3 bottles and one long flexi-funnel. End of story.

Can't understand why anyone would put anything else in their SHO MTX

Different trannies will react to different fluids... strange but that's the way it works. Some people with say that's it's a difference in the blocking rings, some with the paper linings and others without. I'm personally thinking about swapping out the Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF currently in my tranny. Doesn't seem to shift like it used to, with new fluid in it.

I have Mobil1 ATF in both my car, one with a Quaife. IIRC Beth uses Mobil1 ATF in her trannies, if it's good enough for her it's good enough for me.

I had Syncromesh and now I have royal purpal atf. I dont notice much of a differance yet but then again I have only put 1,000 miles on it since then.

I think im going to start with the redline D4 since that is what has been in the tranny, adn I was told it shifts great with it. Then if thats not good ill switch to the mobil one.:thumb:

redline and royal purple seems to be the best bet.

Nonetheless all other ATF fluid will work as well , and the syncromech.

Because Mobil 1 doesn't react well to all SHO transmissions. Out ot the two I had, Mobil 1 was one of the worst fluids used in my transmissions.
