That was probably the upgrade from the 9.25" that was in there to the larger Valeo units. Even the valeo units failed due to the aluminum shaft for the TOB, but apparently the 9.25" clutches failed even more often. Depending on whether you got the new rev TOB at the same time you might want to watch out for a stiff clutch pedal as time goes on.

I don't know what they did and it didn't feel any different after the new clutch was install. It feels the same now at 45,000 miles as it did before, but I will keep watching for any problems that you mentioned. At the rate the miles are adding up on this car it might have 50,000 on it in another five years.
