Recall Limits

Hey I don't know where to post this. How do recalls work? Is it for the life of the car regardless of miles or ownership or are there limits?

What kind of recall are you talking about? A safety recall (like the Taurus subframe plate nut/bolt/washer recall) never expires.

Other recalls can be limited in scope by such factors as age and mileage.

Thanks rockledge, I was checking the Autozone list of recalls on my cars. Sure were a lot for the Taurus but only a few for the Bonneville. Didn't know if I could have some of these things checked out for free. I guess I will call the dealer and give them a vin number and see what they say.
