the good news is they are still available, the bad news is you have to buy a new rear glass. these cars, as well as many others, use what is called "encapsulated" glass. Meaning that the rubber surround is permanently attached to the glass. The quarter glass in this car is the same way. Check with glass shops to see who has the best "cash" price. If you have never replaced glass before, pay for professional installation. As a unibody car, the glass is part of the structure of the car and improper installation can cause structural failure. I have actually seen improperly inatalled glass pop out when the vehicle was put on a body lift!

Musta been one rusty *************.

On a second note Rob, call some glass places and see if they have the seal. IT sits in a track that is attached to the glass.

I had my back glass shatter while I was driving down the road on Friday. It was loose before that. I had a quote for $70 to reseal it, and the whole window cost $252 installed. They said that the company that installed the previous replacement window did not use any sort of adhesive, just butyl tape to hold the window in...

That sucks. I'd go back to that other company and try to give them the bill. At least give them an earful.

Oops, didn't realize you were talking gen 1. I believe it did have a separate molding similar to the front windshield. To install properly, the glass will still have to be removed and reinstalled. The encapsulated didn't start until gen 2. Russrad25 experienced what I talked about proper installation of glass!
