I'm designing a stereo to put in my ride. I'd like to cut out the leather between the rear armrest and the trunk, and let an 8" sub peek through that hole. However, there is a vertical brace right in the way. Is this bar necessary? Anyone ever removed it? What's the easiest removal method?

what they're trying to say is that the 'brace' is nothing more than something to support the middle of the seat and doesn't actually provide any structual integrity to the chassis. cut it out if you want, just don't let anyone ride in the back seat unless you don't mind them in the trunk, cuz in case you haven't noticed, the back seat is pretty much leather wrapped foam...not the strongest thing on the planet.
