Hey, Im in the middle of the clutch job, and i pulled the Rear main Cover, not knowing that i could just put a screw through it and pull. Now the Rear Main Carrier gasket is Shot and ripped. Can i just make one out of a silicone? If so, what kind? i tried buying the Gasket make stuff at AZ and cutting my own gasket, but thats not working very well, its not a easy gasket to duplicate....

TIA

And if you can't get one fast enough, just use "the Right Stuff" or any good quality silicone sealer. It's not a high pressure seal unless you block off the crankcase vent going to the bottom of your throttle body.

i'm replacing this seal as well as my crank bearings and i forgot to buy the oil pickup tube gasket, i'm thinking i could get away with reusing it since is was replace about 9months ago when i did my rod bearings. any thoughts on that.

For something that crucial, I wouldn't dream of reusing it.

Will this stuff work pretty well or am i better off waiting the few days to get one from RCM? This isnt a thing i want to get lazy on and then have to take it apart to fix a $9 seal.

If you're worried, get the gasket- or you'll worry about it all the time after it's installed. But, Right Stuff is some good junk! Never had a leak on my Mustang when using it pretty much on everything!
