So, umm, does anybody have a write up on changeing the rear motor mount? I always see the front mount, but never the rear. I plan on changing it in Florida in january so I want to get any available help on it before the time comes to do it. Thanks in advance

I dont have a write up, but I can say its not that tough to do. You will need a floor jack, some jack stands and a piece of wood. Procedure is much the same as the front mount. Its pretty tough to get the bolts lined up when you put the new on in, but not impossible.

no...u raise the engine to replace the mounts. THats what the floor jack and the piece of wood are for. You carefully raise the motor by jacking it up at the oil pan. VERY CAREFULLY.

cool, then I can tell my friend to forget the engine lift. I have alredy replaced the front mount so I know to be very, very carefull. I also try to do it quickly as to lessen the amount of time the engine is raised.

I had a hard time removing the rear mount. The nut securing it onto the subframe wouldn't budge.

I had a bit of a hard time with the rear engine mount-to-subframe nut, too. It was another one of those nuts where I had to resort to the 5' breaker bar extension (cast iron pipe) I have lying around. Funny too because those nuts are only supposed to be torqued to 55 lb-ft.

So the procedure is the same for the rear mount as the front, no need to dorp the subframe, and, umm yeah?
