Good evening ! New to the forum . Have been lurking a couple months but finally joined after I bought my 13 sho . Any how anyone experience a popping noise or like the awd is locking up in the rear when making slow sharp turns?

Welcome, congrats on the new ride! Have you checked the brakes to see if there is binding in the caliper slide pins, or in the piston itself? Is the emergency brake releasing fully? Does it happen every time, regardless of how far the car has been driven? Does it matter left or right turn?

So far I have only noticed turning right. It has new tires and brakes on it from when I bought it. It has 75k and I've put about 400 miles on it since I bought it . I will check the emergency brake and try and take a look at the actual brakes this weekend .

If the brakes check out, there is an electrical connector to the active torque coupling clutch. This is the box attached to the front of the rear differential. Disconnect it and see if there is any change.

Disconnecting it will effectively make the car 2wd. If the shudder goes away, this only tells you iys awd related. You could still have an input fault causing excessive awd application.

Well actually got to drive the car more finally. It seems to happen alot but not all the time. I haven't had time to get up underneath. And it seems to be more when making hard right turns verus left . Hopefully can get car on lift this week and check out underneath.

Your PTU may be binding. They are known to be the weak link in the AWD system.

Change fluids in PTU and RDU. At 75K they are both past due if not already done previously.

A popping noise sounds more like a bad CV joint. With AWD, you have these joints front and rear. Was the car ever in a rear end accident? The rear joints should last longer than the front ones as they don't have to move as much (wheels not turning). It could also be worn rear upper knuckle bushings or worn upper rear control arm bushings.
