I've been having a rear end noise when doing sharp turns, feels like there's a pulsing sensation as well and It seems almost it's coming from the center. Makes the noise on both directions

Both have black fluid outside of the seals and appear to have been replaced with junkyard units in the past

These actually don't look bad?

The black junk you're seeing on the RDU cover is likely from the puke filter, which allows fluid to expand out of the top of the unit to not over expand and cash backlash wear on the gears.

Both look like they could benefit from a fluid change, I recommend Red Line Lightweight Shockproof oil in each. Start with that and see how it looks. Also if you put the rear end in the air and put the car in neutral, do the wheels spin at the same speed?

definitely get them done if both under warranty. generally if only puking fluid and notcreating a dynamic sensation, you can renew the fluid and motor on. in any case, inspection of the fluid is of primary importance, and in case of the PTU, all 3 "exits" short of a broken case are important to evaluate.

I mean I do have the pulsating sensation when it rumbles. I would say we're in the process of failing but not yet failed

Dealer was able to order parts and expects them within a week, oddly they had me put down a refundable deposit due to the cost total even though it's warranty work.

Car is still drivable in this state but not as quick, it's almost faster easing onto the throttle than flooring it

Weird. Guess it's to ensure if you decide to not do it they aren't stuck with the parts.

Parts installed, took the dealer approx 5hrs, no more rumbles and the car feels so much better with and a small increase in fuel economy
