I need to know with 100% certainty weather or not a freeze plug should be located in the hole that resides behind the rear main cover on the back of the block? Also if there is supposed to be a plug in there what size should it be?

Thanks for your help in advance!

Yes, there should be.

*edit*
No, I don't know the size. I just ordered a full set from RCM when I did my rebuild.

RCM sells nice brass ones , but you can take them from anywhere if you know the size. Which I dont by heart.

There are 2 choices, 35.21 mm or 40.08 mm. Get one of each if you are at the store You can measure the hole and if it is a bit bigger that 1 3/8" then it is the first, and if it is a bit bigger than 1 1/2" then it is the second.

Instead of starting another thread I'll ask here. Does anyone know where this bracket goes? I'm rebuilding a '93 ATX that I didn't take apart or have pics of prior. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry guys I was logged in as my brother. I found out "where" it goes, but I don't know what goes behind it, the intake bracket?? Again, thanks.

I thought that was an intake bracket. I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like it bolts to the front intake plenum (2 bolts), to support the crossover tube (1 bolt).

Thanks Hamal, I got it fingured out. I was missing the small black bracket that goes across the two top A/C studs under the Alt. After that it was clear.

Why the heck did they use so many damned brackets!?!?!?

Stock manifolds with a bunch of grinding and sanding, then sent them off for Jet-Hot coating.

With the rear mani I didn't grind the heat shield stanchions off, in the event we still need to use it.
