Do you need to remove the rear valve cover to replace a leaky rear pass side cam seal? The rear valve cover could use replacing as well, very slight leak in it but the price was shocking. I checked with local NAPA store and they wanted 99.00 for new valve cover gaskets. Is this the going price or is there a cheaper vendor.

You do not need to remove the valve covers.

That sounds right for the price though.

Hmmm, I removed the cam sensor and the two bolts that hold the half circle shaped aluminum housing but will not come off. I don't want to pry on it afraid of scratching the cam or cracking the housing, or am I going about this wrong?

Your going about it wrong, you only remove those covers when you pull the cams. You have to pull the old seal off the front of the cam and push the new seal around the cam.
