So I get up this morning to go to the base for Physical Training (PT) and it is a little cold (24F). I get in and fire up the SHO and let it warm up for a few minutes to get the frost off the windows. So, a few minutes later another one of the soldiers that rides with me show up and we are off. About 3 miles into the drive the brake light on the dash flickers on then back off till I hit the on ramp to the Autobahn (60 mph section to base) when it comes back on and stays on. So I am like WTF now.... So I get up to the exit ramp for base and I got brakes still....good thing as its a coverleaf style ramp, anyways I get up and onto base and I get out to check it out and I still had a half a reservoir of flluid but the rear tire on the inside is covered in fluid. I figured it was probably a brake line but having just gone over the cars brakes I knew the lines were in decent shape. So I start looking even more only to notice the fluid is running down the backside of the rotor from inside the caliper piston area. What the .... would cause a 6 month old caliper to start leaking there? I have never seen one leak like that on a newer caliper. Only on a SHO !!!! But then again...at least it wasn't the lines in the middle of winter. One of the only cars I know that would put a rich man into bankruptcy.
