getting frustrated with the rear brakes. :cuss:

parking brake would randomly stick;

so I replaced all parking brake cables, because the return spring was busted.

Still sticks,

Boot was a little torn and sliders were sticky. Replaced both rear calipers with NEW ones & fresh pads

Still sticks,

Hmm Maybe my flex lines have collapsed, they are the originals and it did seem really hard to bleed the brakes... So I replaced the flex lines with a stainless steel set.

Still Sticks, WTFH!

So maybe my proportioning valve is broken? Replaced that and adjusted it...

STILL STICKS!

So.. my new pads got worn down to 50% from the brake sticking and my ebrake doesn't work at all now. I dont like leaving my car in gear because it puts the weight of the car on the power train and mounts for one thing.. and secondly I have a remote starter installed and I am paranoid about hitting the button accidentally. Almost wish I had drum brakes.. they never seem to have given me any problems.

Do I increase the tension on the parking brake cable now? or.. is my master cylinder somehow screwing things up? How can I get my parking brake working again.. there is enough pad life left.

When driving, all brakes seem to work as they should, so not sure whats up with the parking brake... any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've heard of the return spring not being strong enough. I think people have added a spring of some kind.

Agreed... when mine stick its because that weak spring can't twist that "arm" once it gets all nice and rusty. I keep trying to **** mine up, and move it with a big set of channel locks or something every once in a while... haven't in a while and mine most of the time lets go.. :) They usually will pop once they see a little heat...
