have had this problem with my 95 MTX also. The rear brakes are prone to stick in closed position as they are used w/ the parking brake on the MTX model. This can be especially bad on a rust-belt care (like my 95 MTX !)
When I got the car, R rear had both pins frozen partly engaged, so I was only getting 19mpg. I tried to free up the caliper, but basically could not get it to move at all.
Ended up removing the caliper/bracket on both rear brakes and replacing them with remans. Needless to say I put an endless supply of lubricant on the new pins.
No similar problem for the ATX -- rear brakes never stuck, Texas car.
Both SHO's have the MidwestSHOBros rear upgrade w/ 92 calipers & bracket.
I have the old stock calipers/brackets pins on both 95's, and at least one or two of them are usable. If you need some parts, I can part w/ these for free -- I don't plan to return to stock. alternatively, you can buy an entire replacement set of parts from AdvanceAuto, caliper/bracket & disc, cost you about $ 250+ -- all except the anti-rattle clips, which you can get from Ford but are hard to find.
Email
[email protected] or PM and maybe I can send a parts care package.
