rear brake pressure

I want each brake on my sho to supply 25% breaking power. 50% front and 50% rear. Do i need the buy the rear brake bias plugs or can i bypass the block alltogeter.. Please someone help me out. I want better stopping power without upgrading to a 96 brake system. I just bought slotted and drilled rotors and want them to last long and stop on a dime.

If you increase the ability of the rear brakes, make DERN sure the ABS is working properly.

the rear brakes are smaller for a reason. 50/50 braking front and rear will cause the rear brakes to lock up sooner than wanted(since all the weight is up front). This will engage the antilock system and braking forces(up front) will suffer. You may end up shooting yourself in the foot.

You mean BRAKING power?

No you don't want each brake to supply 25%. You want the fronts to provide about 85% and the rears about 15%.

Strongly suggest you do NOT start dicking with the brake system on your car until you understand a bit more about vehicle dynamics and weight transfer, elsewise you might just **** someone.

it lets the rear brakes supply about 20% of braking power vice the ~2-5% that they do on most stock SHOs. I have some on mine, they definitely change the car! I think it's better, though.

Oh, and as far as stopping on a dime goes, a.) slotted/drilled rotors provide LESS mass and area for the pads to work on, and b.) ANY 10.9" setup is going to fade after one or two heavy stops.

I like to think of the 11.6" mod not as an upgrade, but a necessary safety improvement. I have 11.6" rotors and stainless steel brake lines and I think it's pretty darn good, once you get all the air out of the system!
