yeah...this was just a tester turbo. After all is said and done, we wil have a larger one. a turbo isn't permanent...it does come off. Plus, it runs great. everyone with turbos on theirs all have problems...and we don't. thanks for the compliment on the fabrication, though...i appreciate it.

i have not dyno'd it yet. This project has only been on the road for a couple of months. This one might not do 500 but our other one might :)

Hmm, 50k miles, no problems here.

You solve some space problems that I have to deal with. Also wondering, your x-over pipe, why the change? Any idea on how much boost you are seeing? I would be interested in the curve with that size turbo. All in all, looks like a well thought out design. Good job.

the top looks pretty clean. nice and clean. any photo's of the bottom?

check ebay for those TCoupe 30lbers, I accidentally bought a set for $40 once. but you may want to look in to a FMU, that would not totaly require tuning to work and you'd only be down $100 and another $113 for the High pressure fuel pump :thumb:

That turbo is more/less equal to 1 of my twin turbos....
But at least you started with a T3 based turbo which can be readly exchanged for say a T3/60-1 Hifi with no changes to your setup.

Everything on the car is stock, including the tranny. We are running 8lbs. boost. The FMU is mounted on the firewall. (it is off of a paxton supercharger kit for a mustang.) We were showing that is is pretty easy to accomplish a turbo upgrade for the SHO, using stock parts, with no runability problems. It might not have 500hp, but it didn't cost us and arm and leg to make it faster than most cars on the street.

You might want to check AFR on a wideband if you haven't already...
Very much so if your on the stock pump.
Just friendly advice :) We'd like to see turbo SHOs stay turbo SHOs.

Were the stock manifolds retained? Is the pipe routing simple and avoiding of melting wires? Great work on the setup. A bigger more efficient turbo and some fuel system goodies and some proper tuning and she will be crankin some really good #'s.

Yes... the stock manifolds are retained. No wires are getting burned up....If you can bring the car to us, we can turbo it for you.
