have someone put the clutch pedal in while you listen to the engine. if the rattling stops its the throw out bearing. could also be your cam chain tensioner. i put in an pair of 3.0 cams in my 3.2 from a 180k sho. the chains were really dirty and almost looked like they were stretched (im lazy) . the car has made a ticking noise from day 1. im sure it that. you might have the same problem. if you can get yourself a mechanics stethoscope it will help you track down the noise faster.
