im a little mad becuse the other day i was driving to work and my car shut off and would not start back up... had it towed to the ford dealer and figured i would let them fix it under warranty cause i didnt really have the time to.

they find out its the fuse box again (happened right after i got the car in november) but this time they also fixed the leak that was causing the problem and it was running rough and they found out a coil pack was bad so that was replaced

get a call and find out none of this is covered in the warranty!! apparently wiring and coil packs do not count as electrical components or parts of the engine, but if my window motor would have broke that sure would have been covered

so to anyone that is thinking of getting the gaurdian warranty, DONT! its worthless, and the only time it was used so far was when my power steering rack went out which actually saved me money there

my transmission better go before the warranty is up or else i didnt get my moneys worth lol

In the interior one of the engine compartment one.

How does water get/leak onto either one?

the one under the dash... and it was the windshield leaking cause they had to have a glass guy come in and seal it up

the last time this happened was right after i bought the car so i took it back where i got it from (a used car lot) and they had a garage fix the problem but not the leak

Interesting. Good to know, sorry to hear that it's happened twice.

I had to put the hood to cowl seal back on my car as I was getting water down into the engine compartment air filter intake. Not good.

I just bought two rain hat kits that are for the 2004 Taurus and with a bit of simple trimming it fits across the front edge of air box under the cowl. This is a weather strip that sits up about an 1.25" or so and seals against the top of the cowl.

That works too. I may also just trim the strip so that it covers that area and then some. But leave the driver side still open.

Not sure... but you sure could see the heat pour out of that area on a hot day when it was sitting at a red light.

If it's been leaking that long wonder if there might be some rust where the seal to glass is? Does the car smell musky?
