herm... well with the existing wheels/tires, the tire goes up under the fender (you can't see the very top of the tire). It won't be possible for the wheel to stick out... so i'm thinking that it will either fit or not fit, and that saggy springs won't have much to do with it. Correct me if i'm wrong.

One thing you didnt mention is what diameter the rims are that you mentioned with a 38mm offset and mounted on 225mm tire? If there 17's what size tire are they "wall" wise? 225/45/17?

What I meant with the saggy springs is the fact that with 38mm offset they will stick out a bit compared to slicers in the rear and cause the tire to rub when you hit a bump or have people in the back. I know with a Gen II there isnt a problem but I always hear stories of Gen I fenders rubbing and being smaller than the rest of the newer SHO's with aftermarket rims.

Well... I'm going to get 17"s with a 38mm offset.

what is the stock offset on the tires? I think I can figure this out if I know the stock size. thanks.

Do you mean the stock tire diameter so you can bu a 17 tire as close as possile to it?

Stock size for the Gen I's with basket weaves was 215/65/15 with 26" tire diameter. If the 17's your buying are 7" wide 225/50/17 tires have a 25.9" diameter while the "popular" 235/45/17 tire(usually fitted on a 7.5" rim) having a smaller 25.3" diameter.

So what color is the SHO? There's nothing wrong with it being different than everybody else's, that's almost better!
