Ran the SHO kinda disappointed.

I bought my wife a new SHO a few weeks ago. I finally got time to take it to the track for some TNT. It was probably around 95° and I had half a tank of gas. Only got a few passes best was a 14.0@102. I was really wanting a 13 out of it I just didnt get to run anymore after it cooled off. What is everyone else running in the heat with stock shos?

I'm actually surprised it did that well considering the heat. I've seen these cars run a bit slower in this warm weather. Assuming you could cut a decent 60' time, I wouldn't be surprised if that car pulls near mid 13's (13.6-13.8) in the cooler weather. Well done!

I think you did pretty good too. When you compare your results with the magazines or OEM published results there are some things you need to consider:

Heat, most published results are optimized for temperature. If it was not cool when they ran, they apply a correction factor. Lots of ice used on the intake prior to a run also they try to do runs in the cool of the morning.

Altitude, what is the altitude of your track. What is the track correction factor for sea level?

Gas. 10% ethanol which is just about the standard fuel everywhere contains 10% Ethanol. A gallon of Ethanol has fewer BTUs than a gallon of gas. Therefore by volume a gallon of gas with 10% ethanol can do less work than a gallon of gas with no ethanol. Sure the octane goes up with ethanol but unless you have a CR north of 12:1 you're not taking advantage of it. To get maximum power from your gas make sure it is pure gas.

You have the MPH for 12's, the 60' is the pinch. Try 28psi and a 1750 RPM launch and see how that helps. My Flex usually get's a 1.89 to 1.95 60' with that setup on my all seasons. I can't wait to try out my Hankooks I just put on last week.

I run at twin city in louisiana I think the track is around 75ft. I didnt ice the intake and I was running 10% ethanol gas.

I didnt let any air out of the tires. I will have to try that next time. I was launching around 1500-1600 rpm.

Good, considering that you live in an area that sucks for temps & humidity.

FWIW, my Subaru Legacy GT with a Stage 1 tune ran a 13.39 in 63F temps, probably coulda dropped a tenth at least with colder temps.

During two SHO Convention drag days with temps in the 90-100 range, with humidity tio match, I could only run 14.20s.
