Radiator

There is a drip, drip, drip leak of radiator fluid on the drivers side of my engine. It is in the first half of the engine bay. I havent investigated it yet, but this weekend i am going to. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas. It probably could be anything, hoses or radiator. But maybe someone here had the same problem. Let me know. thanks. Aaron

More than likely, unfortunately, it will probably be the radiator. If you take a look and find coolant dripping off of a T-connected vacuum hose, that is a classic symptom of a leaky radiator.

I forgot to mention, it only drips when it is running.

It is necessary for you to inspect and determine the source of the leak.

Anything that carries coolant is a suspect and there are too many possibilites to be considered without a visual inspection.

One of the simplest and easy to reach repairs would be the upper radiator hose. Run a towel under this hose to check for drips. As stated before, however, you must identify the source of the leak before you can repair it.

If indeed is is not a hose as scott suggested, the drivers side leak can very well be from the separated crimp seam near the end tank. I just had my "new" radiator wet the bed after 16,000 miles and 2 years. It was the seam and www.radiator.com is sending me a new one via fedex next day free of charge. takes about 2 hours to remove and replace.

While I agree that it is probably the tank seam on the drivers side leaking - you will need to get underneath and find out where it is leaking for sure. Mine was leaking at the seam - I took out the rad and tightened up the crimps with a pair of vice grips, and then pressure tested it with a caoting of soapy water and air pressure to confirm the leak was fixed. So far it has been 4 months and no more leak...
