I have a '91 SHO and the brushes in the radiator fan motor are shot. When I looked up the motorcraft part number for the fan assembly it said that it is no longer available. Does anyone sell the right replacement motor for an SHO? Or should I buy a generic replacement from someone like summit racing? Also does anyone know if the fan is the same in both gen. I and gen II cars?

If anyone can help me please let me know.

All 89-93 MTX cars should have the same fan. Check out the classifieds here, people are often parting out SHOs and can probably get you a replacement.

I just purchased an original Siemens replacement fan motor for my '95. I know Pep Boys carried the one for the '95, however it was special order.

Yo, the motors are different Gen 1 and Gen 2, on the Gen 2 they changed the wiring, so it is 3 wire, not 2... Fan had multiple speeds.
That is my recollection... I had to do this fix for my car and discovered this change. But I was working an 89, and was trying a 92 fan.. I think they may have changed the wiring in 90, but not sure.
YMMV
