I gotta agree with NJ about the Falken's. The set I have on my 18" wheels have a ridiculus level of grip, and they ware pretty good with a 280 rating. Later.NJshofear:
If price is not an issue than i agree with Kaotic...however is price is an issue, for the street you cant go wrong with Falken GRB FK-451's about 100 bucks a pop for 225/45/17's and cheaper than that for 16 inch wheels
I have driven on the tires that I mentioned including the new "bad a$$" BF Goodrich's and from my viewpoint they still get beat by the Bridgestone's. Tirerack comparisons must be taken with a grain of salt.SHO5:
Well chexk this link out as far as dry traction the bf goodriches are better.

the GRB fk451's are tons better than the azenis...i had both...the grip is awsome on the 451'sAutoXSHO:
Grassroots motorsports just did a tire comparo. I believe they finished in this order:
1. BF Goodrich KD
2. Falken Azenis (they aren't sold in common SHO sizes however)
3. Everything else
They did NOT test the SO-3s, however, but I'm sure they would compare favorably among the top two.
The new Kumho ECSTA MX is supposed to be great, too, as is the Michelin Club Sport.
Real race tires are in a whole different league (ECSTA V700 + Victoracer, BFG R1, Hoosiers, etc)

The full name is the Falken FK451 GR-B(as in beta, not regular B). They are amazing in dry, amazing in rain, even in heavy stuff, and I've never tried then in any thick snow, but they performed nicely in the light stuff we had last winter here in Sohio. They have been around as of early last year I beleive. I got mine on in July and ran them straight through to this June(~12,000 miles). I highly recomend them for street use with occasional track time.AutoXSHO:
I haven't ever heard of the FK451. Is it new?
